It is no secret that NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. The four-time NBA champion wanted Deion Sanders to take over as the head coach of the Cowboys. He made this suggestion during his ‘Big Podcast with Shaq’ in February. Sanders was the head coach of Jackson State at the time and he respectfully declined Shaq’s offer. Recently, Sanders agreed to become the next head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, which prompted Shaq to send him a four-word message.

In the latest episode of the ‘Big Podcast with Shaq,’ Shaquille O’Neal and his co-hosts Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams talked about Sanders becoming the head coach of Colorado. As per reports, Sanders signed a contract worth $29.5 million over five years before bonuses and incentives.
Shaquille O’Neal admits sending a message to Deion Sanders after his recruitment
During the podcast, Shaquille O’Neal and the crew talked about the criticism Deion Sanders has been receiving for his move to Colorado. Shaq stated, “He [Deion Sanders] can handle all that you know. Prime used to be a very very loud individual. He took all the criticism and is very spiritual now. He’s a fine young man. I hit him in the DM and I told him congratulations and I’m happy for him.”

Talking about the criticism received by Sanders, the former MVP highlighted a saying of his mother Dr. Lucille O’Neal. “You can’t please everybody all the time,” Shaq stated.
The Los Angeles Lakers icon added, “So the reason y’all keep talking about, ‘They said this.’ There is no ‘they’ in this situation. He did what he was supposed to do. He taught them young men how to be gentlemen.”
NFL veteran Adams then shared his opinion about the whole situation.

Spice Adams’s opinion of Sanders leaving Jackson State
Spice Adams stated that the situation can be looked at in a positive light as well as a negative one. Adams said that Deion Sanders did a great job with Jackson State. However, he was concerned about the four-star and five-star recruits that joined the school to play for the two-time Super Bowl champion because Sanders is leaving the school after just two years.

Subsequently, Shaq wanted to know the procedure to transfer schools. Adams explained back in his day a player had to sit out a whole year when somebody transferred. He disclosed that it is not the case now as players can transfer and play right away.
Sanders left the Tigers with a record of 27 wins and 5 losses. The team completed an undefeated regular season with a 12-0 record on Saturday. He reportedly informed the team about his departure after Saturday’s win.
