In the much-awaited Super Bowl LVII, the Kansas City Chiefs lock horns with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. The entire US sports realm picked its favorites for the game, including NBA legend Charles Barkley. The 11x All-Star has a decent track record with his NFL betting picks, as the legend once cashed a six-figure winning amount in a 2018 NFL game. Moreover, Barkley recently revealed his preparation of a $1.5 million bet for the Super Bowl, matching the star rapper Drake’s energy. 

The Canadian rapper placed a $70k bet on the Chiefs and various smaller bets adding up to $1.25 million. Moreover, Drake is infamous for carrying a losing ‘curse’ for whichever team he supports. Similarly, Chuck has his fair share of failures when it comes to betting and gambling. The legend even quit gambling for two years due to addiction as he once said, “I probably only won a million five or six times. But I’ve lost a million somewhere between 10 to 20.” However, Chuck, an ardent Eagles fan, placed a million-dollar bet on the team.

Charles Barkley unleashes Drake’s energy

In a recent episode of The Steam Room podcast, co-host Ernie Johnson mocked Charles Barkley over his whooping million-dollar bet. The Inside the NBA producer, Tim Kiley also joined the podcast briefly for a candid chat on the Sunday showdown. During the conversation, Kiley went on to take a dig at Chuck for his betting pick. He said, “We’ll see, who’s right, Ernie’s kicking your a** in every other bet.”

Following Kiley, Johnson sarcastically asked Chuck, “How many am I getting?” He confidently replied,” One and a half.” Thus, revealing Charles Barkley’s mammoth bet on the Eagles on Sunday. 

Chuck’s 6-figure bet on the Eagles

In a 2018 game between the New England Patriots and the Eagles, Barkley gained a lot by placing a bet on the Philadelphia side. Even though the legend didn’t reveal the exact figure, he used a creative metric system to reveal the amount. He said, “In Alabama, it’d buy a big condo…In L.A., a small guest house.”
