“Aint No Parade Inside That City”: Hours After LeBron James’ Lakers Destroy Ja Morant’s Hopes, NFL Legend Takes Major Shots at Dillon Brooks

The Los Angeles Lakers settled the exciting first-round contest against Ja Morant’s Memphis Grizzlies with a 4-2 record on Friday. Even though LeBron James and Co. produced a dominating performance throughout the series, Dillon Brooks’ trash talk and on-court antics against James grabbed all the attention. After registering a thumping series victory, the Lakers fans mercilessly roasted the Grizzlies player on social media. Additionally, an NFL legend joined the fans and took major shots at the 27-year-old guard. 

After Memphis leveled the series in Game 2, Brooks surprised everyone with his trash talk. He addressed the media and said, “I don’t care. He’s [James] old… I poke bears. I don’t respect anyone until they come and give me 40.” However, the Lakers’ dominance in the rest of the series left Brooks with no other option other than skipping three out of four post-game media interactions. 

NFL legend joins LeBron James in the Grizzlies attack

Hours after the Lakers sealed the series on Friday, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe took a dig at Dillon Brooks with a tweet. The tweet read, “I need help with a question? How does a man have soooooooo much to say after a gm 2 win. Refuse to talk 3 of the last 4 gms. Can someone help with this? #AintNoParadeInsideThatCity.” Even though Sharpe didn’t mention Brooks’ name in his tweet, fans in the comments section guessed the star. Senior ESPN reporter Tim MacMahon reported Brook’s media evasion twice in the series. 

Moreover, King James also took a jibe at the Grizzlies after the series. The caption of his Instagram post read, “If you ever see me fighting in the forest with a Grizzly bear, HELP THE BEAR.”

Shannon Sharpe has always been a loyal Lakers fan, often visiting the Crypto.com Arena to witness the game. However, Sharpe’s rivalry with the Grizzlies began earlier this season.

During one of the Los Angeles Lakers‘ home games against the Grizzlies in the regular season, Sharpe engaged in a verbal altercation with Ja Morant’s dad and the Memphis team. The beef went so out of control that the staff had to hold Sharpe back. However, the NFL legend and Morant’s dad hugged it out before the game ended.
