In one of the recent episodes of ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’, the Los Angeles Lakers legend jokingly said that Jeff Bezos could hire Spice Adams (one of the co-hosts) as he can see the future. Shaq was seemingly having fun with Adams. However, while speaking about Bezos, Adams intervened and said to the Big Diesel that he could join in the bid to buy the Washington Commanders as now Bezos is banned from buying it.
In reply, the 15x All-Star said, “I’m on it, I’m on it.”?This, in turn, surprised Nischelle Turner (another co-host) and made her say, ” I thought you wanted to own a basketball franchise, I thought you didn’t want a football franchise.” The 50-year-old replied, “I’m not broke, I can do both.”
Shaq, who has a net worth of $ 600 million, was seemingly flexing his wealth in his podcast rather than actually expressing his interest in buying the team.

The Amazon founder expressed his interest in buying the three-time Super Bowl-winning team back in 2022 but now it seemed like he could not buy it for a specific reason. Bezos owns The Washington Post and according to ‘The Athletic‘, the newspaper?published a series of stories that documented a culture of sexual harassment at the team that ultimately helped build the pressure to sell. This, in turn, made the Commanders current owner, Dan Snyder ban him from bidding as he was unhappy with the way the aforementioned newspaper has treated the franchise.
