One user commented, “When they gave up all their young guys that helped them win that championship, they were doomed.”
Another fan said, “It’s crazy how when LeBron had Lue in Cleveland, Lue was getting trashed and everyone said LeBron was the coach, but now T Lue is a potential coach of the year and the Lakers need him, etc. Lmao.”
When Shannon Sharpe was asked to rate Shaq’s comment on a scale of 1 to 10, he rated it 2. He said that Shaq didn’t tell anything that the people around the NBA already knew. It is because of the way the Lakers’ front office meddles with its head coaches.

Shannon also said that he doesn’t want to discredit Shaquille O’Neal because he knows what he’s speaking about. But he doesn’t believe that Shaq’s comments would discourage anyone from taking the job.
Is LeBron James disqualified from the GOAT debate?
According to Skip Bayless, comments of a Laker legend like Shaquille O’Neal, have to be given importance. He gave a rating of 10 for the significance of Shaq’s comments. Shannon commented that the reason any coach wouldn’t consider the Lakers’ job is because of the uncertainties in the Lakers.
The uncertainties around the future of LeBron James on the team. Anthony Davis’ fitness, and the overall squad quality and depth.

But Skip disagreed and said that LeBron James shouldn’t be in the ‘GOAT’ discussion because no one wants to coach him. To which, Shannon was enraged.
LeBron James is in the #2 spot in the all-time scoring charts for the regular seasons, only behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He is the only player ever in the history of the NBA to have 30,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, and 10,000 assists. ‘King James’ was also the only consistent player for the Lakers franchise this season, despite being 37-years-old.
