LeBron James has been under immense pressure lately. The Lakers are in shambles and their stars have been underperforming on quite some level. But on Saturday we saw a hopeful Lakers team. They were motivated, determined, and effective, led by who else but the King. He dropped a masterclass performance with season-high 56 points against the Golden State Warriors. The 37-year-old was on fire, giving the Lakers the charge to win the game.

LeBron James has proven time and again why people shout his name in the GOAT debate. The King gives justice to the comparisons with Michael Jordan. Whoever you choose to call the GOAT, the presence of LeBron in the league has been immense. His game, dominance, shooting and scoring ability, and desire to be the best even at 37 is straight-up impressive.
Shannon Sharpe says LeBron James is the GOAT
Shannon Sharpe is one of the greatest tight ends in history and is one of the best NFL players. He won three super bowls during his career, two with the Denver Broncos and one with Baltimore Ravens. The Hall of Famer is an undeniable fan of LeBron. He took to Twitter after King’s fiery 56 point game.

Shannon Sharpe is one of the biggest admirers of LeBron. It was obvious to go crazy after an inspired performance against the Warriors.
The performance sparked the fans to emphasize how James is the best player in history. The consistency and impact, even at 37, are commendable. Although this also sparked die-hard fans of Michael Jordan. They made sure to show their disagreement. Just the two opinions as an example of the fans’ reactions:

The GOAT debate is endless. Although it’s true that Michael Jordan had the titles and his dominance stayed for a decade, LeBron James statistically is absolutely supreme without any comparison to Michael Jordan. He might have lost 6 finals, but he was the protagonist in the road to his team reaching there all times.

Although it’s also true that the Warriors have had their dip in form, scoring 56 points against any team is not a cakewalk. Irrespective of the opponent, James is still only the 7th player to achieve 54 or more points in Lakers history and he is only the 4th 37 years or older to have a 50 point game. With 4 titles to his name, no one can disagree that the King is right up there with MJ. Who is better between the two is a long endless debate altogether.
