LeBron James has been under immense pressure lately. The Lakers are in shambles and their stars have been underperforming on quite some level. But on Saturday we saw a hopeful Lakers team. They were motivated, determined, and effective, led by who else but the King. He dropped a masterclass performance with season-high 56 points against the Golden State Warriors. The 37-year-old was on fire, giving the Lakers the charge to win the game.

The performance sparked the fans to emphasize how James is the best player in history. The consistency and impact, even at 37, are commendable. Although it’s true that Michael Jordan had the titles and his dominance stayed for a decade, LeBron James statistically is absolutely supreme without any comparison to Michael Jordan. He might have lost 6 finals, but he was the protagonist in the road to his team reaching there all times.

Although it’s also true that the Warriors have had their dip in form, scoring 56 points against any team is not a cakewalk. Irrespective of the opponent, James is still only the 7th player to achieve 54 or more points in Lakers history and he is only the 4th 37 years or older to have a 50 point game. With 4 titles to his name, no one can disagree that the King is right up there with MJ. Who is better between the two is a long endless debate altogether.
