The Memphis Grizzlies made it all the way to the playoffs as a second seed before their journey was abruptly cut short by the Los Angeles Lakers. Much to fans’ dismay, Ja Morant‘s team was eliminated by LeBron James and Co. in the first round of the playoffs itself. Days later, Morant landed in hot waters with the league after the sports world saw him seemingly holding a gun during an IG live session again. As a result, several big names came forth to give their take on Morant’s latest action, and one refused to hold back his raw opinions.
The Grizzlies were among the top-seeding teams in the Western Conference and many expected them to emerge victorious in their matchup against LeBron James and the Lakers. However, following a series of intense games, the Lakers defeated the Grizzlies by a 4-2 tally and progressed to the second round.

Football veteran calls out Ja Morant’s supporters
Shortly after the IG live video went viral, the Memphis Grizzlies suspended Ja Morant from the team’s activities, whereas, the league is currently looking further into the matter. Following that, Denver Broncos legend Shannon Sharpe shared his thoughts on the matter in a recent episode of his talk show, Undisputed. The 3x Super Bowl Champion stated that many expected him to be furious at Morant. However, that was not the case. Sharpe shared that he believed in actions more than words. Therefore, he was looking forward to watching Morant improve after the 2x All-Star had earlier stated in March that he would take time off to work on himself. Sharpe said, “So, at this point in time Skip, where I am, I’m not even upset at Ja.”
However, that didn’t mean that Sharpe was not furious at all about the whole situation. Turns out, the former Broncos tight end was upset with the people who had defended Morant. He said, “I’m mad, I’m upset, I’m disappointed, I’m disgusted by the people that defended him because that’s what got us here.”

When Morant was in a similar situation two months back, it created a massive debate on the internet. While half of the NBA world condemned Morant’s actions, the other half decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and move on from the situation.
