Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Teammate Makes Bold Travis Kelce-Klay Thompson Claim That Stephen Curry Won’t Deny

On Sunday Night, America’s focus was on the Super Bowl. As the festivities began, Rihanna’s performance blew minds while the Kansas City Chiefs won by a narrow margin against the Philadelphia Eagles. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes hugged his teammates and confetti covered the arena. Soon after the game, the NFL world harped the Mahomes’ craft; while the rest focused on praising Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce. Amidst these discussions, a question emerged. The question was, “Who’s Travis Kelce’s NBA equivalent?” Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s teammate rushed to answer this question and his answer could certainly be Stephen Curry-approved.

Bobby Portis, Giannis’ teammate, wrote on Twitter, “Prime Klay. I’m always WIDE open I don’t miss!!” For Portis, the NBA equivalent to Kelce is Klay Thompson from the Golden State Warriors and this is something Curry wouldn’t disapprove of because if Kelce is a Thompson then that makes Curry similar to Mahomes.

During the Super Bowl game, Mahomes and Kelce worked together like pen and paper. The duo complimented each other well and bagged their second Super Bowl title together. Their camaraderie has spoken volumes for the chiefs as they carried the team through each season and each victory.

The trust between the duo seems unbreakable and they understand each other like they were mind readers. Mahomes knows that a throw to Kelce will always be fruitful. Additionally, their families believe that the duo “really love each other.” 

Individually, Kelce and Mahomes are players whose craft is undeniably one of the greatest, but together they form a chemistry that enables the Chiefs to call themselves a dynasty.

For some NBA enthusiasts, like Portis, it’s hard not to draw a parallel between the partnership of Kelce-Mahomes and Curry-Thompson. For starters, Curry and Thompson have won championship titles together and complement each other well on the court.

They understand each other’s craft and share a bond of brotherhood. For many, it may seem like the two share a telepathic connection as they move together on the court smoothly and in sync. Known as the Splash Brothers, one thing is for certain, if Curry is having an off day, Thompson steps up, and when the two-time MVP passes the ball to Thompson, usually there is no missing.
