Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James might have billions of dollars sitting in his account but he most definitely has no intentions of spending to solidify his online presence. When Elon Musk took over Twitter, he made several changes to the social media platform that left people wide-eyed and skeptical. It has been months since the tech mogul stirred controversy with his business directives and LeBron continues to stand firm against it with his actions.

Interestingly, it’s not just him who has opposed Musk’s policy. Apart from Michael Jordan, LeBron James is the only other NBA athlete to have gained billionaire status. While the 4x NBA champion earns millions of dollars every year from his NBA contract, the rest of his net worth comes from his various business ventures including his co-owned production house SpringHill Company. Now, an NFL veteran has supported James by sharing his stand.

When Elon Musk took control of the billion-dollar company, he announced that Twitter users would now have to purchase the blue tick for $8 per month and the policy applied to everyone. While many opposed Musk’s new approach, others seemingly accepted the change. A tweet by LeBron James proved that he remains a part of the former group.

The 19x NBA All-Star recently took to Twitter to share that his social media account will no longer have the blue tick beside his name. Additionally, he confirmed that he would not be paying $8 a month for it.

Following that, Marcellus Wiley reacted to King James’ declaration and shared his stance on the matter. In his latest YT video, the former Buffalo Bills DE stated that like LeBron, he had no plans of paying for the blue tick either.

He said, “He ain’t paying to be verified on Twitter, me either. D*mn it, Elon Musk you got all my money off your three Teslas you sold me. I got all them Teslas, I ain’t spending $8 a month for no d*mn blue check mark, you can have it.”

Lakers superstar rejects Elon Musk’s offer

Interestingly, this is not the only time LeBron James rejected the Tesla founder’s ideas. When the NBA superstar began looking for a house in LA, Musk granted LeBron and his team a tour of his $62.5 million worth Bel-Air mansion. However, the deal never took place because, apparently, the property did not tend to James’ preferences.

He eventually struck a deal with soap opera co-creators William and Lee Phillip Bell and brought their estate instead.
