After 15 minutes of administering CPR, Hamlin was rushed to the hospital where his condition continues to remain critical. Subsequently, the game between the Bills and the Bengals was postponed. Athletes like LeBron James, JJ Watt, and sports fans in general, stood by the NFL’s decision. However, popular analyst and commentator Skip Bayless questioned the suspension of such a crucial game without taking into account the sentiments attached to such a severe situation. Following this, Bayless faced the wrath of the media and the fans for his insensitive comments.

A day after his comments, Bayless spoke highly of LeBron James. This came as a surprise to fans as Bayless is one of LeBron’s biggest critics. While talking about the four-time champion’s 43-point game against the Charlotte Hornets, Bayless claimed that he never misses a “LeBron Game”. Supposedly, date nights with his wife take the back seat if King James is on the court. He said, “I’m here to tell you, a skeptic has been turned into a fan”. The NBA Community was quick to react to this in the wake of his remarks against the NFL’s decision to suspend the Bills vs Bengals game.

While referring to Bayless being canceled on the internet, fans stated that his stunt of claiming to be a LeBron fan was a way to redeem himself. They also commented on his statement about putting LeBron James’ games ahead of date nights with his wife. “So Friday nights or date nights. I don’t miss LeBron. She just gotta wait. She waited last Friday, Birthday Night, for LeBron,” Bayless said during his show Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED on FS1.  On the other hand, some fans focused on Bayless’ body language and concluded that he didn’t actually mean what he said.
