NFL fans are gearing up for Super Bowl LVII which is set to take place on Sunday, February 12 at State Farm Stadium. After almost six months of hustle, the ultimate football showdown will be between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Amid all that excitement, a throwback video of Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes has resurfaced on the internet and has gone viral once again. The video was even shared by Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal on his Instagram story.

It is no doubt that Patrick Mahomes is an extremely talented quarterback and one of the best players in the NFL. Interestingly, the resurfaced video also suggests that the 27-year-old Texas native is a man with multiple sporting talents that could help him in a swift career change in case he wanted one.

Shaquille O’Neal wants Patrick Mahomes in the NBA

Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal recently shared an old video from 2019 that had both NFL and NBA fans going insane. In the video, Mahomes can be seen showcasing his ball-handling skills in a pickup game as he moves past the defense and finish it off with a successful layup. The short clip on Shaq’s Instagram story also had a fan’s comment pinned on it that read, ‘Someone get Patrick Mahomes a 10-day NBA contract’.

Before entering the 2017 NFL draft, Mahomes previously played baseball for his college, Texas Tech, and had a brief stint playing basketball during his high school days.

Watching Mahomes moving swiftly while handling the ball with ease, it might be safe to say that the 2019 Super Bowl champion sure has got some skills in shooting hoops. However, the wish to watch Mahomes playing hoops might never be fulfilled, at least probably not until he retires from the league.

Chiefs ban Mahomes from playing basketball

Watching an extremely talented football superstar acing in basketball as well is a treat to watch. However, when the video went viral in 2019, the Kansas City Chiefs made sure that Mahomes never enter another basketball court for even a pickup game, due to the risk of injury.
