The surprising nosedive from the Lakers has led to many expressing their sympathies for LeBron, especially since he continues to dominate the league. In a recent interview, Oakley spoke about how he felt bad for LeBron and compared the King’s current situation in LA to Michael Jordan’s early years with the Chicago Bulls.
Charles Oakley on LeBron James
During a recent episode on ‘Club Shay Shay’, Charles Oakley and Shannon Sharpe spoke about LeBron James. Oakley began by praising LeBron for his on-court and off-court achievements. Thereafter, he expressed his sympathies for the ‘King’.
“I just feel bad for him (LeBron James) about the situations that are going on in LA right now,” said Oakley.
“Last time I’ve seen a situation like this with a superstar was with MJ, first 5-6 years in the league when I come over to the Bulls. Getting 30, 8, and 8, and still losing 0.500 team,” explained Oakley.

In Conclusion
Clearly, Oakley has his sympathies for LeBron. He feels that the ‘King’ deserves to win another title and this may require LeBron to join a new team. But the Lakers won’t give up LeBron so easily. After all, he was a major reason behind ending the franchise’s playoff and championship drought. So they will have plans to keep LeBron in order to win their 18th championship.
