The pair felt this was the right time to take the step, especially due to the Nets’ poor start in the season. Marks said in a statement that the teams were not performing the way it was supposed to.

Nash thanked the franchise for giving him an incredible experience and said that he was grateful for everything.

Durant replied that at the time, he had just woken up from an afternoon nap. He got to know about it when he watched the news on ESPN. The reporter then asked KD what was the initial reaction he gave after knowing about it. The two-time NBA champion said that he was shocked when he first got to know about it.

“You’re always shocked when a move like this happens but it’s normal in NBA,” said Durant.?Additionally, he said that despite the occurrence, all they could do was get ready for the next game.
