The situation for the Brooklyn Nets has not been ideal since they signed superstars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Brooklyn had all the right pieces to win it all, yet somehow they find themselves with both their star players unhappy. When Kyrie recruited KD from the Golden State Warriors, everyone thought that the dynasty for the Dubs was over. On the contrary, the Nets are now finding trades for both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

Kyrie and the Nets front office were at an impasse after the star refused to get vaccinated. James Harden then got traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, breaking their superteam early. Harden requested a change in scenery because he did not like how Irving treated the Nets.

Irving played a handful of games with the Nets, and the organization was unhappy that the star’s priorities were not in the right place. Recently, the Nets were shopping for Irving as the star was unhappy with his situation. Surprisingly, Durant is the one who asked for a trade, and Kyrie opted into his player option.

Durant has been watching?Irving’s antics closely, and it appears he is done with the star. Kyrie did not play any home games in the previous season due to the New York vaccine mandate. Even though Irving arguably sabotaged Durant’s time in Brooklyn, KD is also partly to blame. He is leaving the city when they undoubtedly need him the most, and fans are not okay with it. Durant has also reportedly stated that his preferred destinations include the Phoenix Suns or the Miami Heat.

The Nets traded young stars like Jarrett Allen and D’Angelo Russell for a few half-hearted seasons from Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Here are some of the reactions as well as the original tweet from TheNBACentral:

A fan said, “Nets shouldn’t care what he wants. They did everything for him and now he wants out? With 4 years left on the deal? Get the best package you can possibly get and don’t contact him until you inform him of his new team.”
