Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA. His talent, determination, dedication, and will to win whatever?s in front of him inspired so many generations. MJ still continues to inspire so many more generations. One such guy he inspired is Jayson Tatum.
Tatum looks up to Jordan, and it was a dream come true for Tatum to meet his hero, Michael Jordan. But he, like probably anyone else in the world, was nervous and extremely intimidated. So much so that he embarrassed himself in front of Michael.

“So it was like Melo was there, Blake was there, Russ, Spike Lee, like everybody was there,” Tatum said. ?I walk in and I was like I?m gonna say ?what?s up? to him before I sit down? Then I walk over to him, and like my hands start sweating, and I was like ?What?s up Mike?? When I went to go shake his hands, I knocked over his wine glass on the table and it broke.? Jayson was so nervous that he was shaking, and could even get the confidence to shake hands with the legendary Michael Jordan.

Surely it’s not the first time that a person, let alone an NBA player, has a similar reaction when meeting the ‘His Airness’ for the first time. Hopefully, now Tatum can at least shake his hand without knocking over his beverage.
Jayson Tatum takes inspiration from both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant
Tatum was a huge fan of both Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan growing up. Everyone knows how much Kobe admired Jordan. So it?s natural for Tatum to look up to MJ just like Kobe used to. Tatum?s admiration for Kobe is on another level as he showed it by wearing the Kobe armband for the game 7 against Miami Heat.

Apart from that, Tatum also left a message for Kobe before the game. The message said, ?I got you today.? This just shows how much Kobe meant to him. He helped the Celtics get past the Heat and book their place in the NBA finals.
Jayson scored 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists in the series decider. He certainly would’ve made Kobe proud with his effort and his dedication toward his idol.
