Dennis Rodman has always posed a challenge to his opponents on the court and fought restrictive societal norms outside the basketball arena. From wearing heels to showing up in a wedding gown, the Chicago Bulls legend has been dismantling the conventional notions on gender and sexuality.

The Worm’s latest act challenged the hetero-normative notions that have been governing the society at large.?It warmed the hearts of his fans who couldn’t help but give a shout-out to the non-conformist.

Dennis Rodman celebrates Pride month with followers

Rodman is a close ally of the LGBTQ+ community. His recent Instagram post showcases his contributions towards the Pride movement.

In his post, Rodman could be seen shaking hands and talking to a bunch of fans during what seems to be a Pride rally.

Rodman wore a black t-shirt which says ‘Love&Love.’ The Bulls veteran paired the t-shirt with a green chequered skirt. “Love will always win. Happy Pride,” Rodman captioned his post.

Rodman once recalled his life while growing up in a household without any male members. His sisters used to dress him up like a girl. Perhaps such experiences have prompted him to break certain stereotypes later in his life.

During the promotion of his memoir Bad as I Wanna Be, Rodman showed up wearing a white wedding gown. He proclaimed he was a bisexual and was going to marry himself. This was one of the five-time champion’s many gestures that broke hetero-normative stereotypes.

Fan Reaction: “Love you Dennis”

As Rodman’s Pride month celebration gained traction in the NBA world, fans rushed in to Instagram to take a look at the veteran’s endeavor.

“No judgement here because Dennis has been a trailblazer in terms of pushing society to become more open minded,”?commented a fan.

“Literally,” another fan wrote addressing hate comments, “don?t understand how you hating on rodman for this. Like why you even following rodman and this comes as a surprise? He was doing this 20 years ago.”

Many fans admired Rodman for being man enough to not care what people think. “Love you Dennis! Would be a dream to shake your hand at Pride! ? this is a true man right here.”

Hailed as “dennis slayman,” many fans thanked him for?actually caring enough to show that pride lives on.

Despite some disgruntled reaction, the massive fan response only acknowledged Rodman’s effort for a good cause.
