It’s been quite a rocky road for nine-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook since the last season. The Lakers spent the majority of the postseason trying to find a trade for Westbrook. All said and done, this year Westbrook will be seen in Lakers’ colors again. With all the big names on the squad, 34-year-old guard Patrick Beverley joins the roster. When it comes to Westbrook and PatBev, their rivalry is no news to the fans.

Fans will be hoping that Beverley’s participation would help the Lakers’ defense, which was a concern last season.

The new season is only a few weeks away. And the fans can see their idols sweating on the court. Especially for the Lakers fans, seeing Westbrook tossing on a towel to his former rival Patrick was a show stopper. Nothing from the past seems to affect their present relationship. Beverley promptly answered “Super excited” when asked about sharing colors with Russell Westbrook.

The fans are euphoric to see Westbrook and Patrick share the gymnasium and court together. Just after his training, Patrick was in sweats and giving an interview. Everyone witnessed Westbrook standing on the side listening to the interview and throwing a towel and Patrick said ?First dime of the year.??This gesture served as a sign that their conflicts had been resolved.

During his talk with ESPN, Patrick said “Russell Westbrook has been his best friend on the team since being traded to the Lakers this summer.” As always the internet is divided into two sides. One side is pleased for the duo, but the other has some serious misgivings.

The incident that sparked Westbrook and Patrick’s feud

It all started back in 2013 in the? NBA playoffs match between Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. Beverley’s attempt to take the ball from Westbrook resulted in Westbrook injuring his knee and being forced to miss the rest of the playoffs. This incident triggered the beef between them. As time passed, the world witnessed the two arch rivals engaged in heated confrontations both on and off the court.
