The Los Angeles Lakers have been enduring a never-ending nightmare this season. A complete 180 from the expectations that were set on them at the start of the season. Furthermore, even LeBron James isn’t able to change the Lakers’ narrative this season.

At 37 years old, LeBron has been consistently providing the Lakers with impactful performances, but to no avail. In their most recent matchup, the Lakers fell to the Pelicans in a 28 point loss.

Although the ‘King’ would finish the game with 32 points, there would be a moment during the game when he was booed by the Lakers crowd for a turnover. Following this was the booing from the fans which took the Twitterverse by storm.

Twitter Reacts to the Booing Towards LeBron James

It was midway into the 3rd quarter when the booing took place. LeBron would attempt a pass to the opposite corner towards Talen Horton-Tucker, only for it to go out of bounds. To make matters worse, it was the Lakers’ 18th turnover, and they were already down by 19 points.

In light of this, several fans took to Twitter expressing their views on the Lakers’ fanbase. They claimed that the city of LA doesn’t deserve LeBron despite him giving the franchise their 17th title.

On the other hand, many fans felt that LeBron and the Lakers deserved to be booed for the way they played. A 28 point loss is shocking, especially against a team that is contending with them for a spot in the playoffs.

However, there were some fans who pointed out that the turnover was Talen Horton-Tucker’s fault. They argued that he should have followed the line of the ball when LeBron made the pass.

In Conclusion

Clearly, LeBron and the Lakers have a lot going on this season. With minimal success, the hopes for a turnaround diminish day by day. Furthermore, several eyebrows have been raised regarding James’ future in LA.

This is especially true after his statement to ‘The Athletic’ about not closing the door on a Cavs return. Moreover, the injuries to the roster and poor performances from Westbrook have only added to the spoils.

Although the hopes for a top 8 finish in the West are diminishing, the Lakers can still hope to make the playoffs via the play-in tournament. But, things will be tough again once they enter the playoffs. If they qualify as the 8th seed, they will most likely match up against the Phoenix Suns or the Golden State Warriors. Furthermore, if they lose in the playoffs, it will be another season of failure.
