There seems to be no stop to the embarrassment for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. Going into the matchup against their potential rivals, New Orleans Pelicans, the purple and gold came out on the bottom yet again. After a dominating first half, they blew another huge lead and gave the game away. However, it seems even when Anthony Davis isn’t playing, the commentators can’t leave him alone. They took a shot at him, which left NBA fans bewildered.
Anthony Davis was the biggest draw that came to Los Angeles back in 2020. After requesting a trade from his then organization, the Pelicans, Davis made a statement before one of their games. He checked in with a t-shirt that said ‘That’s All Folks’. Many felt this was a dig at the Pelicans, stating his time with the organization is over. But Davis denied these claims. Despite that, the commentators rubbed in the Lakers’ loss by trolling AD.

As soon as the cameras panned onto the Lakers’ big man, the Pelicans’ announcers had their fun.

Pelicans give nightmares to Anthony Davis and Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers started off hot in the first half, garnering a 20 point lead in the period. Likewise, LeBron James was at his best yet again as he took in most of the action. However, the purple and gold gave up yet another double digit lead to lose in the second half. After the 116-108 loss, the cameras showed an upset Davis. And the commentators rubbed salt on the wound. They said, “There is AD. That’s all folks.”
Fans went wild over the commentators taking the sneaky dig on AD. But with the Lakers, some serious concerns are arising as they are close to being out of the play in the scenario as well.

The Pelicans powered through an impressive comeback thanks to Brandon Ingram. The former Laker posted 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the win. CJ McCollum came through with 18 points and 6 assists while center Jonas Valančiūnas contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds. The Pelicans continue to make their play in case strong, but for the Lakers, there are some serious worries.
With the Lakers sitting 10th, this loss doesn’t help. In addition, they will probably go up against New Orleans in their play-in matchup. LeBron James doesn’t seem fazed as he added 39 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Russell Westbrook had another decent game with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to his name. Malik Monk came in big off the bench with 23 points. However, a lack luster second half saw the Lakers crumble once again.
