Ben Simmons made his much-anticipated return to the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday. As expected, the fans booed him. Even though he did not play, he warmed up with his team. Every time he touched the ball, he was greeted by boos and sometimes with a sarcastic cheer.

The fans were rowdy at the game as they have criticized Simmons for not turning up to play. Every time Simmons came on the screen, he was showered by boos. Even several abusive chants broke out during the game. But probably the worst part about all this was when fans heckled Simmons outside the arena.

It became so intense that Simmons had to sneak out of the hotel to get into the arena. That was uncalled for, and it could have turned ugly. Luckily nothing serious happened, as Simmons and the Nets made it to the arena safely.

Simmons gets the last laugh as the Nets humiliate the Sixers

It wasn’t all bad for Ben, as his new team absolutely dominated his old team. The Nets came out with a vengeance and they were looking to put the Sixers away quickly. They opened up a 17 point lead at the end of the first quarter and they did not look back. At one point, the lead was 36. The Sixers cannot be happy with their performance, especially against one of their main rivals.

Kevin Durant had a great game as he finished with 25 points. Seth Curry also showed what his old team missed out on, as he put on a show with 24. Irving continued to impress as he ended the game with 22. James Harden had a horrible game as he ended with 11 points on 3-17 shooting. It just wasn’t Harden’s night as could not shake off a poor first half. He also had four turnovers, and he had the worst +- with -30. Embiid was the only saving grace for Philly as he finished with a respectable 27 points.
