The Dallas Mavericks almost came away with a victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers in their latest matchup. The game went into overtime but the Mavericks were not able to close it off in the final seconds of the game. Despite playing without their team leader and leading scorer Luka Doncic, the Mavericks put on a great show. Especially from their latest addition to the team, Kemba Walker.?

The Mavericks ruled out?Doncic for their game against the Cavaliers due to his quad injury. But the team held its own against arguably one of the better teams in the league right now, and a lot of the credit goes to Walker and Christian Wood.

Fans seemingly unimpressed with breakout Kemba Walker performance

Walker was waived by the Detroit Pistons and was a free agent. The Mavericks then added Walker to the roster hoping to help out Luka Doncic in the backcourt. And after his season-high performance, there might be something to look forward to for Mavs fans.?

The four-time All-Star was moved to the starting lineup in the absence of Luka Doncic, and he certainly did not disappoint. Kemba Walker had a season-high 32-point performance and also made the layup that sent the game into overtime.

However, fans on the other hand did not seem impressed by his game-tying layup over Cavaliers center, Jarrett Allen. One fan tweeted, ?The most anti-climactic game tying layup I?ve ever seen.?

Another fan commented, ?How is he getting playing time lol.?

While some fans trolled Kemba, others were happy to see Walker back on the court and have a good game like his old days.?

Walker has been dealing with injuries over the past few years. His time with the New York Knicks could likely be written off as a disappointment. He kept making his way in and out of the lineup before going over to the Pistons.

The Detroit Pistons?then decided to waive him, which turned out to be a blessing for the Mavericks who could use all the help they can get. Walker?s 32-point performance does give a ray of hope to Mavericks fans.
