With the signings of Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony, the Los Angeles Lakers have a formidable lineup for next season. Thus, the arrival of these superstars has increased the team’s chances of winning the NBA title next season. However, NBA analyst Skip Bayless thinks otherwise. After Ben Simmons expressed his desire to leave the Philadelphia 76ers, the analyst put forward a Twitter post stating how he would be a better fit than Russell Westbrook with the Lakers.
This has caused massive outrage on Twitter.
I'd rather have Ben Simmons than Russell Westbrook.

Skip Bayless thinks Ben Simmons is a better fit
In spite of signing Russell Westbrook, Bayless thinks Simmons can compete better than him in Los Angeles. Fans have questioned the analyst after this Twitter post.
Simmons has had a mediocre career so far. His latest performances against the Atlanta Hawks have fractured his relationship with the fans as many of them are calling him to leave the franchise. Likewise, Simmons is not happy in Philadelphia too. The player is expected to miss the training camp while Doc Rivers is taking the last effort to keep him at the franchise.
Russell Westbrook is one of, if not THE, hardest worker(s?) in the NBA. Ben is stubborn and doesn’t adjust to things strategically, he’s more likely to throw a fit than try to win. https://t.co/CVeXjKGenc

You would rather have a player that scored 5 points in game 7 of a playoff series than a player that has averaged a triple double, 4 times in the past 5 seasons. Fascinating https://t.co/L1Rl88Ljo2

With all the doubts related to Simmons, Bayless’ comments took people by a surprise. Is there any reason he can be a better fit than Westbrook?

Westbrook vs Simmons: Who is better?
Considering the shooting problems faced by the Lakers, bringing in Simmons will be a downgrade rather than an upgrade.
In his career, Westbrook has only shot a three-point percentage of 31.5. Those are very low considering the pedigree of the player. However, Simmons’ stats are abysmal. With a career average of 14.7%, those numbers are alarming if a team wants to focus on their three-point shooting. In terms of size and strength, the Lakers have Davis and LeBron. The ability of both these players inside is exceptional. Davis can knock down the occasional three-point bombs.
