The NBA has seen some feisty rivalries over the years. Lakers-Celtics, Pistons-Bulls, Cavs-Warriors, and Knicks-Celtics have all given us some great games. But over the years, these rivalries seem to have faded away as one or the other team would just fall from their peak.

But we may have another one on our hands soon. The matchup between Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers is surely one to keep an eye out for. Both these teams have met a few times in the playoffs and have had heated moments in all of them. But the Celtics seem to be dominating the Sixers for quite some time now. Even when they meet in the regular season, the Celtics generally come out on top. This has been the case since Jayson Tatum arrived in the league. The matchup between Joel Embiid and Tatum is a must-watch, but Embiid has not had a high level of success over him.

When the Sixers met the Celtics last night, they were outright embarrassed. They lost by 48 points in a game in which they never led. Furthermore, to rub it in their faces, the Celtics broadcast team had a bold claim about the Sixers.

NBA Social media goes crazy after seeing Celtics broadcast

The Celtics broadcast team came up with a funny line while Jayson Tatum was doing an interview. It said, “Jayson Tatum is Still Joel Embiid’s Father”.

This sent NBA social media into a frenzy.

Celtics beat the Sixers by 48

The Celtics started out the gates strong as they built a 10 point lead by the first quarter. Then they turned the screws on the Sixers and restricted them to under 30% shooting in the first half. Celtics continued their onslaught, and they kept building on their lead. In the fourth quarter, the lead ballooned to 51 and the Celtics went to record a crushing 48 point win over their rivals.

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum both had monster games as they finished with 29 and 28 points, respectively. Joel Embiid had a rough night, and he finished with 19 points. Alongside him, only one other player, Tyrese Maxey, managed to cross double digits, as the Sixers just couldn’t deal with the offensive firepower of the Celtics.
