It’s barely been a month after the NBA Finals, but the off-season has kicked right in. Crazy moves and reports are making the rounds. However, the Brooklyn Nets are the undisputed center of attention during this time. After Kevin Durant’s shocking request for a trade, the situation with Kyrie Irving is still unresolved. The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly led the chase in the race for KAI. But they aren’t alone in the race for the show-stopping player.

Irving is probably one of the most skilled players in the NBA. The scoring maestro knows all the moves to score a basket. However, a major problem came up with him not playing for the most part of the last season. And that has turned out to rub the Nets the wrong way. Brooklyn is not willing to give the seven-time All-Star a long-term contract. Despite Irving opting into his final year, he may be finding his way out of the franchise in this off-season itself.

But the choice is not going to be easy. Not just the Lakers, but the Philadelphia 76ers and the Dallas Mavericks are also in contention to make a move for Kyrie Irving.

Kyrie Irving has choices

Since the start of this off-season, Irving and the Los Angeles Lakers have come up with the same sentence. A much-awaited reunion with LeBron James has been storming the reports. And it seems a move is surely in the works. However, there is a chance it is away from the King. Despite his irregular nature, Irving is a franchise-altering player. Likewise, the heat is really building up for the former NBA champ.

Kyrie Irving has drawn interest from multiple teams including the Sixers and the Mavericks. After the disastrous season the Lakers had, KAI may be their one saving grace. But with his spark burning brighter around the league, the purple and gold may not have enough to offer.

The Mavericks made one of the most fierce runs in the playoffs last season. They beat the number one seeded Phoenix Suns with Luka Doncic leading the way. However, a huge part of the puzzle was the contributions made by Jalen Brunson. But with his new deal with the New York Knicks, Dallas is desperately in need of a talented shooting guard. No one arguably fills that spot better than Kyrie. Moreover, they have the assets to send a spicy deal to Brooklyn.

The situation in Philly may be a little more unrealistic. James Harden reportedly left the Brooklyn Nets after having issues with Kyrie’s role in the team. Hence, a reunion back with the Sixers may not be on the table. However, after the Beard sacrificed a huge part of his salary, Kyrie’s entrance may not be a surprise. The dynamic with Joel Embiid and Harden could go on to become a trio no rival fan wants to see.
