Anthony Davis has been in the headlines for quite some time now. With concerns regarding his availability, many times the discussion has opened up as to how often he has been so prone to injuries this season.

Davis has already missed a large chunk of this season due to injuries, about one-third to put it to estimation. He has been influential when he is at his full fitness for the Lakers. Alongside LeBron James, he is often the key to all things good for his team. With the struggles of the Lakers, currently on 9th in the rankings, AD’s injuries have also been worrisome for fans.

They had another such setback when Davis sprained his right ankle during the second quarter of Wednesday night’s game against the Utah Jazz. He was down on the court for several minutes and was helped up by his teammates.

Fans react to yet another Anthony Davis setback

Twitter exploded once again when there was a mention of AD’s injury updates and how much more time he is set to miss.

In the most recent tweet, the NBA writer Shams Charania gave updates on Anthony Davis’ injury and provided an estimated time he would be on the bench. Some fans on twitter erupted whereas some also showed support. Most noticeably, Dan Cronin took a hit on Davis with a reply to the tweet.

In the thread, a fan replied “He’ll be back in time for the playoffs.” after which Dan made a joke about the Lakers’ chances of playing in the playoffs replying to a hopeful fan.

The fans also joined the trolls as they replied, not being particularly kind to Anthony Davis or the Lakers.

Other reactions included jokes about how the fans have decided to make fun of the sad unavailability.

Where some jokes were rather playful, some tweets were downright brutal.

Although most tweets were jokes and had a laugh to the situation, some were in full support of AD.

Anthony Davis had 17 points in 17 minutes before he went down injured and had to get off the court. Despite the victory, AD’s yet another period of absence could play a hand against the Lakers’ chances to make the playoffs.

“He was shaking his head about everything. He was frustrated because like it looks like he is going to miss some time,” said Vogel.

“It was sickening to see AD go down in that fashion. It was an unfortunate play,” LeBron James commented. “The good thing is he will be better a week from today when we all come back. He’ll be back as soon as he can. Nothing to rush.” James reacted to AD’s injury.

If the Lakers hope to avoid the play-in tournament, they need to finish in the 6th seed. They are currently six games behind Denver. They need to pick up pace, get in top form and do justice to the big roster, in order to avoid the upset like last season.
