The Boston Celtics led a surge on the Brooklyn Nets as they completed the only sweep of these 2022 playoffs. Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant went dead to head as the young Celtics All-Star prevailed in the contest. However, the now rivals were once fighting on the same side. During the 2021 Olympics, both Jayson Tatum and KD were on the team US roster. But after winning the gold medal, the Slim Reaper tried to hit back at Tatum and the Celtics. Kevin Durant has his words hit him back

Back in 2021, Team USA was coming off a major high. Following all the scrutiny from before the Olympics, the US team silenced everyone. Capturing the gold medal honors by beating France, they won their 25th gold medal in basketball. However, it didn’t take much time for the NBA spirit to kick in. Notably, Kevin Durant and his new teammate, Patty Mills sent out a warning to the Boston Celtics.

KD said: “There’s gonna be problems for the Boston Celtics this year”. And these words came back in the worst way for KD; after the Celtics demolished the Nets in 4 games, NBA Twitter rubbed in into KD.

As one of the leading offensive players in the world, the Slim Reaper was rather quiet in the entire 4 game series. He had one of the worst playoffs of his career averaging 26 points per game while shooting just 38% from the floor. He couldn’t get through the defense of Boston as they were hounding him all game long. As for Patty Mills, he didn’t play many significant minutes and didn’t get a chance to make an impact on the game.

On the other hand, Jayson Tatum led the Celtics’ charge over the Brooklyn Nets. Putting up 29.5 points and 7 assists in the series, he was their main offensive threat. In addition, Tatum’s supporting cast did the job as both Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart played great two-way basketball. With the Celtics not losing their momentum since the regular season, it will be interesting to see how far this young team gets this season.
