The offseason helps everyone witness the desperation with which teams try and upgrade their roster for a better outcome next season. And if there is one team that should be fighting for the best, are the Golden State Warriors. After struggling to make ends meet without Klay Thompson, the Warriors are in need of a big comeback. In fact, they have been in the biggest trade rumors currently, that is of Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal. But Adrian Wojnarowski has dropped another bomb that has us rethink their plans.
Warriors to use their draft picks?
First of all, the Portland Trail Blazers and the Washington Wizards haven’t given any confirmation about what they are going to do with their superstar. Neither have Dame and Beal, but even if a trade was on the table, any team wanting them will have to give a package that they can’t refuse.

Most of us were under the assumption that the Warriors would use their 7th and 14th lottery picks, including James Wiseman, to pull off a deal that would bring in Damian Lillard. But it seems like they have other plans altogether.
Woj reported, “I think, like a lot of the league, Golden State’s gonna wait and see how it goes with Bradley Beal. But short of Bradley Beal being available, I expect Golden State to use those picks at seven and 14 this week.” Woj also explained that Beal has still not requested for a trade, which could change of course. But he has to do it before Thursday’s draft.
Despite being linked to many other superstars, Beal is the one that they’re willing to sacrifice most for. However, Woj also revealed that the Warriors are looking at a “cool” trade market for their lottery picks. This isn’t the best news.

With Klay Thompson expected to make his return, the Warriors must be determined to create the best possible roster around their Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay trio. Wasting the prime of their best players will do them no good.
So, if the Warriors do intend to utilize both their picks, they do have a plethora of talent to choose from. Chris Duarte, Trey Murphy, Jonathan Kuminga, and James Bouknight are all on their radar.
But if they do land Beal, the Warriors will definitely become one team to look out for in the West. How do you think the Dubs should go about their decision?
