The Philadelphia 76ers currently hold the best record in the Eastern Conference. Their star duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons are getting the job done for the franchise. However, considering the immense competition in the league, they might need to add another piece to their roster.

In fact, the team was one of the front runners to land now-Brooklyn Nets guard James Harden. The deal broke down, but with Harden joining the Nets, it gave birth to a super team in Brooklyn.

So are there any players for the conference leaders who can further bolster their roster prior to the trade deadline? Well, yes, there is one ray of hope for the 76ers.

Raptors’ Kyle Lowry the perfect fit for the Philadelphia 76ers?

Kyle Lowry, 34, is in the last year of his contract with the Raptors. Although he has spent nine seasons with the Raptors, it might be time for him to move forward. According to a report by CBS Sports, Lowry is on the radar of Philly.

“The Sixers, meanwhile, could make a big acquisition of their own. League sources say Philadelphia, which came up short in its bid for Harden, is still seeking major moves to increase its championship odds. The trade market still needs to take shape in the coming weeks, so realistic targets are unclear.

“But one name to monitor is Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry, a 34-year-old Philadelphia native in the final season of his contract. A veteran perimeter shot-creator is the only piece the Sixers truly lack, and there aren’t many other players on Lowry’s level who are even theoretically available.”
