Brooklyn Nets might be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, but their move to bring in James Harden has left them with less depth in the roster. However, ahead of the trade and the buyout deadline, the Nets can add some quality players to their roster.
One of the biggest names available in the market is Blake Griffin. Earlier, it was reported that Griffin was negotiating a possible buyout with the Pistons. However, NBA insider, Adrian Wojnarowski, confirmed today that Griffin had struck a deal with Pistons and is now officially a free agent.
Six-time All-Star forward Blake Griffin has agreed to a contract buyout with the Detroit Pistons and will become an unrestricted free agent, sources tell ESPN.

Minutes after this Woj bomb, another insider, Shams Charania, reported that the Brooklyn Nets are interested in bringing in the 6-time All-star.
The Brooklyn Nets are believed to be leaders to sign six-time All-Star Blake Griffin, sources tell me and @JLEdwardsIII. Rival teams with interest are expecting Griffin to choose Nets as a title favorite for chance to win a championship.

Given that other competing teams like the champions Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics are interested to bring in a big man, Griffin might be an amazing steal for the Nets.
What can Blake Griffin add to the Brooklyn Nets?
Blake Griffin might not be his athletic self now but can still add a lot to any team. Although he does not dunk anymore, he creates his own shots around the paint. But his biggest weapon has arguably been his usage of the three-pointer.
From the 2017-18 season, Griffin has averaged over 5 attempts from the three-point line. He is a league-average shooter, making 34.4% of his threes in the last three years.

The Nets’ bench might be making three-point shots now, but they need some secondary shot creators in the second unit. On off-shooting nights, shot creators like Griffin can be essential for the Nets.
Given how inexperienced and narrow the bench is for the Nets, Griffin can be an ideal veteran for them. The 32-year-old might be an impressive addition alongside the trio of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving.

Blake Griffin still has a lot in his tank, and he can be an excellent addition for the Nets who are in for a championship run.
