In the offseason, it was as if the Los Angeles Lakers had won some kind of lottery. Apart from trading for former MVP Russell Westbrook to form the league’s one of the most hyped-up ‘Big Three’ to adding several other complementary players like Dwight Howard, Trevor Ariza, and Carmelo Anthony, they are planning to make their roster even stronger.

It looks like Jeremy Lamb is their target for the next trade deadline.

The Lakers’ performance so far is hardly proportional to the kind of offseason that they had. So, it seems like a good idea to mix things up even more. Injuries and inconsistent performances from even the best players have landed them in a soup with a 12-12 record.

In fact, they’re unable to maintain a winning streak for more than three games.

Looking at this, another vital addition to the team would be just what they need. According to reports, the purple and gold have reached out to the Indiana Pacers about Jeremy Lamb. The Pacers, in hopes of coming closer to playoff contention, are looking to rebuild.

This is because Jeremy is in the final year of his deal, and chances of him being dealt are quite high.

“Now that the Pacers acquired Caris LeVert for [Victor] Oladipo in a trade last season and added more wing depth with No. 13 pick Chris Duarte, there’s no room for Lamb. He’s in the final year of a three-year deal that pays him $10.5 million. According to league sources, about four teams have expressed interest in dealing for Lamb, including the L.A. Lakers and Charlotte Hornets,” said reports.

The biggest advantage about bringing Lamb is his shooting. Not only is he going to fit well alongside LeBron James, Westbrook, and Anthony Davis, but he has been great from the arc this season. The Lakers do have Ariza and Melo for that, but it doesn’t hurt to add Lamb as well.

Apart from that, his scoring abilities are also going to be a big asset for the Lakers. Since his last four seasons, whether he is a starter or coming off the bench, he has averaged in double-digits. While there has been constant debate over who should get to be the shooting guard in the starting lineup, Lamb does fit the bill.

The only concern is if they will be able to match the salary for the deal to go down. However, unless another one of the interested teams gives them an offer they can’t refuse, Lamb’s move to LA is very much in the picture.
