A few days into free agency and all seemed quiet on the Philadelphia 76ers’ front. When the offseason had begun, it was filled with trade rumors about Ben Simmons. After what they saw transpire in the last season, it was clear that Philly had understood that he was not a fit there. This team had the best record in the East mostly and was predicted to be title contenders. But they credited their failures to Simmons’ poor performance.
However, the problem began when the 76ers started asking for an unreasonable price for this trade, something that an elite team like the Golden State Warriors, laughed it off. But it seems like Philly is determined to make this happen and trade talks are once again in full force.

Yes, Ben Simmons might be an all-star, but the Philadelphia 76ers are putting him on display in the trade market like he is already a Hall of Famer. There was speculation that Ben would be in great demand for this offseason, but nothing has gone down because Philly’s valuation of him has been so unrealistic.
When trade talks between the Sixers and Warriors started, the Dubs rejected the deal almost instantly. In exchange for Ben, they demanded Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, 2021 first-round picks in the draft along with two future first-round picks. After this, there were no signs of any other deal.
However, let’s not jump the gun. As per Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, “Warriors and 76ers have re-engaged on a Ben Simmons deal sources. Philly is extremely motivated to get this deal done.”

How can they pull off a Ben Simmons Trade this time?
The Warriors utilized both their first-round picks in the NBA Draft. Jonathan Kuminga as the seventh overall pick and Moses Moody as the 14th overall pick. Most likely, one of the two will be involved in a trade for Simmons.
Warriors have time and again indicated that parting ways with Wiseman is not an option. Keeping that in mind, let’s throw Andrew Wiggins in the package. With him, either Kuminga or Moody, Jordan Poole, and a couple of future first-round picks.
Wiggins could bring in far more scoring and playmaking than Simmons did. He also proved to be a great wing defender. If Philly is also able to get a good deal for Tobias Harris, they could add in another star to support Joel Embiid.
So, will the 76ers walk back again with Simmons? Or will he finally play next to Stephen Curry?
