By the second year in the league, Gilbert Arenas had already displayed star-caliber potential. From averaging 10.9 PPG for his first year, Arenas made a huge leap and managed to average 18.3 PPG for his second year with Golden State.
So, while talking to Draymond Green, Arenas revealed what the Warriors’ sales pitch was to sign him back. Arenas said, ?So when we went to the free agency market, you know, the doors are already opened up. I think I was either number two behind Lamar Odom in the free agency market.?
?So, because of I only played two years, I didn?t have my bird rights meaning Golden State can only offer me a certain amount which was 49. It was a seven-year 49 million. So, seven-year 49 million was the max that they could offer me,? mentioned Arenas.
However, by the end of it, Arenas revealed Golden State?s pitch to get him back despite not being able to offer him the maximum amount. Arenas revealed, ?I ain?t gonna lie, they had a hell of a pitch.?

?They had a viper, a Ferrari, the Lambo downstairs, the Corvette, you know what I mean. So what we were trying to do is we were trying to sign an under-the-table deal. You know, one year 4.9 and then having the contract already signed, seven years 79 million. So, that was the deal that I was gonna sign now and then we was both gonna hold it in the vault,? said Arenas.
