His inability to create chances and score the key points led to a lack of belief in Doc Rivers and Embiid himself, which caused some misunderstandings. In spite of his struggles on the offensive end being long documented, Simmons has been top notch defensively. The former All Defensive Team member is now reportedly linked to Portland, per latest sources. Before the trade deadline in February, Philadelphia is apparently very keen on signing an All-star level guard. Gift wrapped to meet their desires, is Damian Lillard himself. Thus, a potential trade between Simmons and Lillard is definitely on the cards.
