As the Warriors play the Brooklyn Nets tonight, which was a neck-to-neck matchup up until halftime, a reporter gave some vital news about Klay Thompson’s return that will definitely render all those rumors about him returning by Christmas Day, true. In fact, there is also little news about when James Wiseman might be joining the roster as well.
Klay, who hasn’t played since Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals because of injury woes is easing his way back to the season. So far the news has been that he has been playing three-on-three, and is expected to be back for the Warriors’ 25th December bout against the Phoenix Suns. And now, a reporter from the Nets vs Warriors game has another crucial update that will definitely hype fans up.
“I spoke to Steve Kerr… and he told me that Klay Thompson played five on five yesterday,” she revealed. “He had been playing three on three for a while but this is big because that was the next step in his progression. And as the coach mentioned, when you’re out of basketball shape for two years, it’s going to take a lot of five on five to get back, ready, and comfortable to come in and play at game speed.”

What about James Wiseman? When will he play for the Warriors again?
Unfortunately, there has been no particular timeline for James Wiseman‘s return. However, he still hasn’t gotten to the phase of playing five-on-five. This doesn’t mean that he could take more time than Thompson to return.
