The legend of Joel Embiid continues to grow. After finishing the regular season as the favorite for MVP, Embiid showed the league why he deserved the award against the Toronto Raptors. He hit a game-winning three with 0.8 seconds left on the clock to give the Sixers a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.

The Sixers came into game 3 with a 2-0 series lead and they looked to take game 3 as well. However, the Raptors weren’t going down without a fight as they built a 10-point lead at the end of the first quarter. They built it up to 17 in the first half. But the Sixers clawed back, and they took the game to overtime. Unfortunately, they were without James Harden who fouled out of the game at the end of the fourth quarter. Then with 2.8 seconds left on the clock, Embiid hit a turnaround three over two Raptors players to give the Sixers a 104-101 victory.

Sixers take game 3

The Raptors started the game off hot, and they didn’t seem like they would go down without a fight. Fascinatingly, they took a huge 17-point lead in the first half and looked in control. Although The Sixers had other ideas. As such, Embiid exploded for 23 points in the second half on 8-12 shooting. The Sixers also locked up the Raptors as they held them for 39 points on 35% shooting from the field.

Embiid finished the game with 33 points and 13 rebounds. James Harden continued his double-double streak as he had 19 points and 10 assists, while Tyrese Maxey chipped in 19 points. For the Raptors OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr finished with 26 and 24 points. Their all-stars Pascal Siakam and Fred Van Fleet failed to deliver. The Raptors will go into game 4 and will look to avoid the sweep. But that is easier said than done, especially with Embiid being in destructive form.
