In his active days, Shaquille O’Neal was a tough man to go against. He would literally bully anyone into getting to the rim and finishing. His dunking over not just one but two or three people regularly was scary to even see. With his big frame and tall body, he was already scary, added to that his aggression would make it the most daunting package. However, this quality of his to dunk and bully over bodies wasn’t something he learned after growing up.

Long before he joined professional basketball leagues, Shaq was already a bully. Although, once he had a life-changing experience, which made him change his ways. The incident was so harsh that he even thought he had killed someone.

Shaquille O’Neal almost killed someone with a punch?

Shaquille O’Neal’s strength is better unquestioned. He had broken down rings with his dunks. However, he prefers to not use force over human beings after this particular incident of his.

On a Podcast, back in 2019, Shaq revealed an incident from his past that changed his lifestyle. When Shaq was young, he was messing around with some guy and got into a fight with him. During the fight, Shaq came boiling down on him and hit him hard with a sucker punch to his stomach.

This brutal punch really hurt the boy. He went to the ground within moments of the punch. Someone being hurt with a punch was okay. However, the boy started shaking after going to the ground with that punch. He was having seizures. Shaq had never seen anyone have a seizure before and seeing that for the first time, especially when you had caused it, scared him. He got so scared that he decided to never bully anyone ever again. According to him, “After that, my bully days are over.” 

Shaq revealed on a podcast hosted by Dr. Phil- ‘Phil in the Blanks’ back in 2019. The Lakers legend gave this as an answer to the question asked by Dr. Phil about defining moments in his life. Bullying is strictly discouraged in many schools across the United States.
