There is a popular saying, no series is won without a win away from home. Well, that’s just what the Golden State Warriors did tonight. Making it three straight wins, the Warriors’ experience reigned supreme on the young Sacramento Kings. The defending champions are now just one game away from qualifying for the Conference Semi-Finals. There is still hope for the Kings to keep their stellar season alive. However, NBA legend Magic Johnson believes the series’ conclusion has been written after tonight.
The Warriors dominated as a unit to take a 3-2 lead in the series against their California rivals. In the process, the Warriors became the first team in the series to win a game away from home.

Tonight’s Game 5 was vital for both sides. With everything level, it would decide who holds the upper hand for the remainder of the series. As the night went on, Stephen Curry and the Warriors stunned the Sacramento crowd. Led by the Baby Faced Assassin, they won the game 123-116.
However, it wasn’t just the two-time MVP that stole the show. As their slogan says, ‘Strength in Numbers‘, the Bay area did it justice. Apart from Curry’s 31 points, three other teammates scored over 20 points. As he has been all series long, Andrew Wiggins’ two-way supremacy came in big. He finished the game with 20 points, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.
Klay Thompson added 25 points while hitting five threes. But the biggest surprise of all was Draymond Green. The last time he was in Sacramento, the four-time champion was ejected. So in his return, he came with a chip on his shoulder. Coming off the bench for a second straight game, Green went off for 21 points, 7 assists, and 4 steals in his return to the city.
Sacramento Kings’ offense did fire, but it just wasn’t enough. The united efforts of the Warriors handed the Kings a loss at home. To keep the series alive, a mammoth task awaits them. They will have to somehow beat the Warriors at the Chase Center, an arena that is looked at as a fortress.
The Kings have the weapons, the stars, and the determination to make it happen. But according to Hall of Famer Magic Johnson, the Warriors have already won the series.
Magic Johnson gives the Kings no chance
Straight after the defending champions’ win, the Los Angeles Lakers great took to Twitter to give his views. He felt tonight was a must-win for the Kings. The five-time champion was impressed by the Warriors who attacked with numbers. Not just that, but he believes “There is no way” De’Aaron Fox and Sacramento can get the better of the Warriors at home.

Just why would Johnson feel so confident? Well, it’s because the Warriors are nothing short of invincible at home. In their championship season last year, they lost only one game at home during the entire postseason.
