Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan has had his fair share of beefs with several athletes during his NBA career. However, one of the most talked about disputes would be the one with a particular Detroit Pistons legend. It has been over three decades since fans witnessed their rivalry play out on the court in all its glory, but the beef was reignited when The Last Dance was released in 2020. MJ’s certain comments did not sit well with the NBA veteran who did not refrain from making his displeasure publicly known. The 2x champion was recently prompted to defend himself yet again after he was called out for his recent comments.

The rivalry between Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons gained fans’ interest during the late 80s and the early 90s when MJ battled against the ‘Bad Boys Pistons’.?After losing to the Pistons on a couple of occasions, MJ and the Bulls finally overcame their rivals in 1991, kick-starting a period of complete domination in the NBA by the team from Windy City.

Isiah Thomas clears an NBA fan’s skepticism

While it has been three years since The Last Dance was released, the beef between Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan continues to be a topic of interest among fans. In a recent episode of All The Smoke podcast, the 2x NBA champion shared that he is yet to receive clarification from Michael Jordan for the comments he made in an episode of the 10-part docuseries.

Shortly after that, MJ’s former Bulls teammate Charles Oakley appeared on the same podcast and fired back at Thomas for his comments. The NBA veteran believed that Thomas had issues with MJ because the latter “came to your city and took your city”. In response, Thomas simply wrote, “I remember us kicking your ass a lot, some one please check my record vs any team he played on! Sit down be Humble.”

The Twitter banter continued when Thomas clarified that he was simply correcting the assumptions by providing facts and “not beefing or hating on anyone”. However, this time, it was an NBA fan who responded to Thomas by stating that the Pistons legend’s tweet conveyed hatred.

In response to the fan comments, Thomas reminded Twitterati that it wasn’t him but MJ who had publicly used the word ‘hate’. He concluded his tweet by stating, “I don’t hate anyone I show and give love.”

Piston legend asks MJ to come clean about his comments

Isiah Thomas has time and again stated that the only thing he wanted from Jordan was to clarify the reason behind his statement. During a recent appearance on Matt Barnes’ podcast, Thomas said that he expects Jordan to publicly apologize for making the “a**h**e” comment. However, he also added that if Jordan really meant what he said, then “let it ride as it as it is”.

Furthermore, he added, “If you lie and throwing stones from behind the scenes, okay that?s you. But if you?re honest and you upright on your square, I?m willing to deal with you.”
