With players just drafted and trusted veterans taking the court at the same time, the Golden State Warriors boast a diverse roster in the NBA. While someone like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green become the reliable force, newer players like Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga pave way for a newer game. Of course, anyone joining the team has a lot to learn from Draymond Green and the others.
Consequently, all veterans come with a lot of experience, usually trying to support their younger players.

For the Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga has been proving his worth this entire season. With the playoffs currently bagging everyone’s attention, Green appreciated their rookie. Fans, however, found Green’s comments to be a little odd.
What exactly did Draymond Green say?
With the way the Warriors are growing their game, someone like Green has to mentor someone like Kuminga. The right amount of guidance always helps a player, especially when it comes from a respected icon.
That being said, Green’s mentorship pattern is slightly unexpected.

“In the most respectful way, I had to look at him more like my son instead of my brother,” Green said. “The reality is he is just as close to my son in age as me in age”.?
The age gap prompted some expectations from Green, who wanted Kuminga the younger to behave and speak in a particular manner. Latently, Green realized he can’t expect Kuminga to behave in that manner. No matter how talented Kuminga is, Green realized he cannot expect him to react like Klay Thompson or Andre Iguodala.
Why were fans amused?

By looking at the reactions, fans seemed confused and disapproving of Green’s response. One half joked about the comments, while the other half disagreed. As per a few users, Green should continue viewing Kuminga as a teammate only, as viewing him as a son can botch things up. Of course, some fans urged people in the replies to read what exactly Green had to say, and then decide.

?He?s going to be really good,? Green added. Moreover, he maintained that Kuminga would end up as an All-Star later on, and it is only a matter of time.
