At the beginning of the offseason, who could have foreseen two of the greatest points guard of this era joining forces? Somehow, destiny lined up that way. In what was a surprise trade, the Golden State Warriors offloaded Jordan Poole. In exchange, they got the services of Chris Paul, a man who has for the longest time competed with the franchise ace, Stephen Curry.

But CP3 recently shed light on their friendship in a recent interview. Speaking about their long-time ties, the newest Warrior recruit expressed his excitement to play alongside the NBA’s three-point king. But the fans saw an obvious tension.

For a good part of this decade, CP3 and Curry have been bitter rivals. Countless playoff battles and intense face-offs made each of their matchups a spectacle. Until today, the primary motive of each was to make a statement and get the win. However, now the tides have turned. The tandem will now have to find a way to win.

Considering they have been bitter rivals, it is inconceivable to see them compete side by side. But that would have been a problem if they were actually hated rivals. Paul was one of the first stars to reach out to the Warriors star when he came into the league in 2009.

The ‘point god’ spoke elaborately about his relationship with the two-time MVP while speaking to Malika Andrews. “Me and Steph have known each other a long time. My wife was at his wedding, I think him and his wife was [at] our wedding,” he told Andrews.

CP3 further spoke about being “excited” playing alongside Stephen Curry and his new Warriors teammates. The Bay have a veteran core. Now with one of the cleverest basketball brains, they can see a different side of their offense, a system where Curry can play off the ball.

Whether it will work is a question for the season. However, a partnership of two elite guards has rarely proven to be a failure. Yet the NBA fans felt the former Phoenix Suns PG has no enthusiasm to stay a Warrior.

NBA fans aren’t convinced with CP3’s excitement

As the viewers watched Chris Paul speak about playing with Steph Curry, they sensed a disinterest. According to them, neither Paul nor the Baby Face Assassin like each other. They believe it’s a partnership that is bound to cloud doom over the Warriors.

While the 38-year-old spoke about their wedding-worthy friendship, NBA Twitter felt it was the only way he could find a way to define their relationship.
