The new Space Jam movie generated a lot of buzz. Nonetheless, the original film in 1996 was a revelation. It starred the great Michael Jordan, along with NBA greats such as Larry Bird and Charles Barkley. The movie was a huge success, and fans flocked to the theaters to watch their favorite Bulls star. Recently, some exclusive footage of Jordan from the iconic Warner Brothers visual was released.

Jordan’s career extended across nearly twenty years. Along with Scottie Pippen, the 6-time NBA champion formed a deadly proposition on court. He was a one franchise player for a vast majority of his stint, until he joined the Wizards during his fading years. Yet, the unforgettable memories were made in red. Averaging over 30 points in his career, it is only natural that he was nicknamed ‘His Airness’. Off the court, the icon was known for his role in Space Jam.

Fans react to rare footage of Michael Jordan from Space Jam
The Space Jam movie revolved around Jordan, who assists the Looney Tunes characters to defeat a group of aliens at basketball. It takes place along the time of Jordan’s first retirement, and was a critically acclaimed film. In a recent clip, it was revealed that the 14-time All-star would in fact play pick-up basketball with up to 22 NBA players every night, during the making of the movie. This would happen on the sets, at the Jordan Dome. Take a look.

This never-seen-before footage was very amusing to say the least. A couple of NBA buffs reacted in a surprised manner to the video. The movie, which premiered 25 years since today, continues to stick fond memories in the minds of fans. Till date, it is still the highest grossing basketball movie. While one shocked fan said, “Fact he played in 11s my lord,” another kept it simple by claiming, “Greatness.”
