LeBron James is the gift that keeps on giving. Earlier this month, he was vocal about his future plans and that has given a specific fanbase a lot of joy and excitement. And it is possible they may get a verdict soon, as the NBA commissioner recently chimed in. Adam Silver was asked to comment on James’ request to the host of NBA Today.

During the media interaction after the game with Phoenix Suns, James gave a shout-out to the Las Vegas fanbase, as being the best in the world. He told that it would be amazing if he could bring a team to Vegas. He was smart to make a public request to Adam Silver, the NBA commissioner.

James said that Silver would usually read the transcripts or watch all the post-game interviews of the players. Knowing this, he expressed his desire to Silver about creating a Las Vegas team. He ended it by saying a polite thank you to Silver.
This was not the first time LeBron James has made it abundantly clear that he wanted to own a team in Vegas. Earlier this year, James said that it is a future goal he hopes to realize on day.
The NBA has been simmering with a potential inclusion of two more teams. Most likely, Seattle and Las Vegas would be on the roster.
Silver responds to LeBron James
Adam Silver acknowledged LeBron James’ request and said it was a healthy environment for players to graduate to ownership and management. He cited examples of past players that have had ownership stakes in teams.

LeBron James is also a co-owner of the Boston Red Sox and the English Premier League soccer team, Liverpool FC. Silver added that he was personally thrilled that James has a desire to own a team. The NBA commissioner was also aware that, “Las Vegas will make a great location for a franchise one day”.

Silver further stated that expansion plans were not a priority at the moment, because of ongoing media deals and collective bargaining. But he assured the audience that conversations about expansion will happen in the future.
