Former MVP Russell Westbrook has built quite a reputation with his deplorable shooting over the past two seasons. During the 2021-22 NBA season, he was bashed by the media and fans alike for his awful shooting while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.

A few weeks ago, he made the switch to the other side of Los Angeles. Westbrook joined the Los Angeles Clippers and the problem still exists.

Playing against the Golden State Warriors, Russ was left wide open during the game on multiple occasions. However, he shot just 3-for-12. During the post-game press conference, Draymond Green revealed why the Warriors employed such a weird tactic.

Green said, “We got Russ to miss some shots but I think when you have a game plan like that, even more so, you know everyone always judge Russ’ jump shot, but what that does to you mentally is tough. And I think, you know, it was more so mental than his shot. He’s been shooting the ball well I think.”

Following up on his comments, Green asserted that Westbrook has been shooting decently this season. However, the Warriors’ tactics made it tough for Westbrook mentally which ultimately resulted in their 115-91 win.

How has Westbrook played for the Clippers so far?

Westbrook joined the Clippers after a buyout agreement was reached with the Utah Jazz, the team he initially joined after leaving the Lakers. With a team full of stars like Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George, a lot is expected from them.
