It looks like Steph Curry has been on a mission to push the Golden State Warriors to the postseason by hook or by crook. His impeccable performances night in and night out have left rivals and fans in awe of him. In fact, the superstar is doing much more than that. He is dropping points on the scoreboard like never before and is being compared to the likes of legends like Kobe Bryant.
The Warriors are currently ninth in the Western Conference standings with a 29-29 record. Having won against the top team of the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia 76ers, has probably given them a big boost.
As they get back to their feet and gain their momentum, Curry posting big numbers every night has added his name to the list of elite players. And NBA analysts are comparing Curry’s 2021 season to that of Kobe Bryant‘s 2005-06 season.

Steph Curry emulating Kobe Bryant?
Bryant’s 2006 season was one of the best of his career. The Los Angeles Lakers had finished the season with an incredible 45-37 record. Kobe averaged 35.4 points per game, which is the highest of his career. And now, the Athletic’s Marcus Thompson has expressed the similarity between the two.
Thompson explained that one had to be there to watch both Steph and Kobe’s season, to see the resemblance. On the Bill Simmons Podcast, Marcus was asked, “The 06′ Kobe thing vs this Curry’s season. It would have to go on for a couple of weeks at this level beyond what we have had. But I do think it’s in play, right Marcus?”
Marcus responded, “No question. And you know what’s special about that? If you didn’t see it, you don’t understand. You don’t feel it. I call it the privilege of the present. We are here. People can’t appreciate Jordan unless you saw it.”
Curry is on a hot streak as he has been dropping 30+ points every night for 11 straight games. This is a feat only achieved by legends like Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. Being compared to Kobe is the biggest compliment any player can get.
