Taking after his father, who was a lifelong gearhead, Michael Jordan has always had a penchant for racing. Over the years, Jordan had toyed with the idea of joining NASCAR. However, it wasn’t until he met Denny Hamlin, a fellow basketball aficionado and NASCAR driver, that he truly immersed himself in racing.

Jordan started making investments in Hamlin’s racing career, emblazoning the Jumpman emblem on his firesuit. He even started showing up at racing events to cheer him on. In order to improve NASCAR’s record on diversity, Jordan and Hamlin eventually joined together to form 23XI Racing.

However, Hamlin recently poked fun at Jordan for missing out on NASCAR races for luxurious reasons.
