During the episode, the Los Angeles Lakers guard opened up about an incident that took place in 2013. This clip sent fans on a trip down memory lane all while expressing their denial on Twitter.

On the podcast, Beverley claimed that he received a death threat from a ballboy in 2013. This was received following Russell Westbrook’s injury. He said, “They passing out papers with a young guy?s face on it, like this big. He threatened to kill. The s**t was real.? He stated that he was under complete police protection. People put the onus of Westbrook’s injury on Beverley. This confession resulted in fans going crazy online.

What happened between Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook?
In 2013, Patrick Beverley played for the?Houston Rockets. During the playoff series that season, the Rockets played the?Oklahoma City Thunder, a team that had the likes of nine-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook. In Game 2 of the series, Beverley tried to swipe the ball from Westbrook. The play ended with Westbrook falling to the floor. Replays showed that Beverley came in contact with Westbrook’s knee.

Eventually, Westbrook limped off the court. He was then ruled out for the rest of the series. The move made by Beverley led to a public outcry. This resulted in Beverly receiving death threats.
