NBA fans seemingly had their hearts in their throats after a recent update given by Portland Trail Blazers star point guard, Damian Lillard. Somewhat of an incomplete tweet posted by Lillard sent the majority of the NBA community down a scary trail of thought. The tweet posted by Damian Lillard suggested that the Golden State Warriors’ point guard, Stephen Curry, had passed away. Just to be clear, ?The Chef? is alive and well but the Blazers franchise did lose another legend named Curry.
John Curry, a cameraman for the Portland Trail Blazers recently passed away. Curry was a Master Chief in the Navy before taking over the cameraman responsibilities for the Blazers organization for the past 40 years.

RipCity had recently lost another Blazers legend, longtime Portland Trail Blazers broadcaster Bill Schonely. The veteran broadcaster died at the age of 93 only a few days prior to the untimely death of cameraman, John Curry.?
Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard tweeted, ?Rip to the legend Curry,? which was misinterpreted by a majority of people on social media thinking Lillard was talking about Stephen Curry instead.?

Many fans were not happy with Lillard?s choice of words to break the news. The NBA star’s words implied that one of the most famous and loved players in the world of basketball, Stephen Curry, had passed.
Blazers gave Curry an honorary tribute
The Portland Trail Blazers, prior to their game against the San Antonio Spurs gave a tribute to the late John Curry. The Blazers franchise honored Curry with a tribute video from the rest of the Trail Blazers broadcast crew.

Many of the crew members shared their thoughts and memories that they had shared with Curry. Not only that but the entire arena took a few moments before the game, highlighting Curry?s seat on the baseline which was camera 4.
