The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly has a list of potential NBA stars ‘to watch for’. With the trade deadline less than two months away, NBA teams are looking for trade options, including the Lakers. However, fans are not too enthusiastic about it and are rather baffled that the source named about half the league in the list. While the Lakers are yet to confirm the news, their fans are getting impatient as the team currently has a 13-18 record.
The Los Angeles Lakers start to the 2022-23 season has been anything but smooth. Their recent game against the Sacramento Kings marked their 18th loss out of the 31 games played this season. With the trade deadline set for February 9, 2023, the Lakers are looking to improve their roster by mid-January. However, Anthony Davis‘ current condition might have changed the franchise’s trade plans.

It is no secret that the eight-time NBA All-Star, Anthony Davis, is prone to injuries. This is the third consecutive season where Davis might have to miss the majority of the games. Unfortunately for the Lakers, Davis’ injury and the recovery timeline will affect the franchise’s trade decisions. According to Jovan Buha from The Athletic, a source stated that Davis’ current state might force the Lakers to make smaller trades with one first-round pick. Point guard Russell Westbrook is likely to remain with the team unless they find a suitable deal before the trade deadline.

The Lakers franchise is undoubtedly struggling both on the court and at the front office with the nearing trade deadline. However, on a positive note, Lakers superstar LeBron James is just a few games away from breaking a record.
Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James set to make history:
Four-time NBA champion, LeBron James will soon become the league’s all-time leading scorer. While the throne currently belongs to NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, it won’t be long before King James surpasses him. LeBron is only 701 points away from breaking Kareem’s 38,387 record. And if things do not go south for James, the Lakers star will achieve the title of leading scorer in about two months.
