Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets made history a few days ago winning the NBA championship. This was the first title in Nuggets franchise history, helping Jokic and Co. become icons of the city. With the title win, The Joker got immense respect from fans, analysts, and even NBA legends. However, two legends of the game were more impressed with Jokic?s demeanor after winning it all.
Nikola Jokic made and broke numerous records with his Finals performance, earning plaudits throughout the postseason. He even broke one of Shaquille O?Neal?s long-standing Finals records that put him on the all-time great big men list. So, what were these two former NBA champions more impressed about?

The star center of the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic, won the Finals MVP award after his historic performances against the Miami Heat. The last time this award was won by a center was by Shaquille O?Neal back when he three-peated with the Los Angeles Lakers. Nonetheless, Jokic was more focused on spending time with his daughter after the win and was eager to go back home to Serbia. He even managed to misplace his Finals MVP trophy in the whole cluster of celebration.
But his demeanor after winning an NBA title, something players spend their entire careers trying to achieve, ended up impressing two Boston Celtics legends. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce talked about Jokic?s humble conduct after winning it all.
On Garnett?s KG Certified, both Celtics legends talked about his silent manner. Garnett said, “Joker looks like the most humblest m*****f***er I?ve ever seen. I?ve never seen a player who?s won the NBA championship and he was just dormant. He was more into his daughter.”?Pierce went a step further and compared the 2x MVP to the iconic Marvel villain, Thanos.
The Joker reminded Paul Pierce of Thanos
Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce went on to talk about Jokic?s preferences after winning the NBA championship. They brought up how he was barely interested in attending the championship parade in Denver.
Pierce chimed in and said, “You know what it was like? It was like you watch the Avengers when Thanos hit you with the snap. And then he went into the grassy knolls and was just chilling.” Garnett even brought up an old Kobe Bryant quote, ?Job finished?? from one of his old press conferences.?

The Big Ticket even mentioned the championship picture and how Jokic was lurking in the back. He said, “I?ve never seen a championship picture being taken with your best player in the third row of the picture.” So, by the looks of it, it is safe to assume that Jokic?s performance wasn?t the only thing that earned him respect from two hard-nosed former NBA champions.
