It has been many years since the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. Over all these years, a void has been left in the basketball world. However, there is one thing that has not changed, and that is Bryant’s legacy. By supporting his foundation and other charity events, wife Vanessa Bryant continues to carry on the legacy of the Black Mamba. Just as she did throughout 2022, she added smiles to people’s lives by bringing them opportunities through the sport of basketball.

She has since built many basketball courts in honor of her late husband and daughter through the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation and BodyArmor. Thanking and being grateful to everyone who participated in these big events and helping people, she wrapped up the year.

In an Instagram post, she shared a video that detailed their journey with the caption: “As we reflect on 2022, we are grateful for the basketball courts @mambamambacitasports built all around the country with our incredible partner @drinkbodyarmor. Looking forward to bringing boys and girls more opportunities to #PlayGigisWay in honor of Kobe and Gianna.”

The new courts are wonderful, displaying a great design that is reflective of Bryant and his daughter. Due to Bryant’s 20-year association with the Los Angeles Lakers, the court features the iconic purple and gold colors.

On many courts, butterfly sculptures of Bryant and Gigi can be seen sitting courtside, and it was wonderful to watch children play on the hardwood. In each of the free-throw lines on the court, fans could see Bryant’s number 8 and Gigi’s number 2.

As Vanessa took over all the projects that the Lakers legend started but was unable to finish, she is making sure to pass on his legacy to the next generation of ballers. This initiative has undoubtedly encouraged young people to follow in Bryant’s footsteps by making a career in basketball. The ‘Mamba Mentality’ will surely live on through the decades.
